7Up pulled a television commercial that
critics said made fun of prison rape. The Young & Rubicam ad, called
"Captive Audience," depicts a 7Up spokesman handing out cans of the
beverage in a prison. At one point, he drops a can and says, "I'm not
picking that up." The ad ends with him being hugged by an inmate in a
cell. The ad was scheduled to run through the end of this year.
